Pune to Host 10th Edition of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival from June 16th to 18th

A celebration of classical music featuring renowned artists at Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir, Aundh

Pune – The much-anticipated Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival, organized jointly by Kalashree Sangeet Mandal and Aundh Social Foundation under the leadership of Abhijit Gaikwad, is set to captivate audiences at the Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir in Aundh from June 16th to 18th. The festival, now in its 10th edition, welcomes music enthusiasts of all ages on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no entry fee. The timings for the festival are scheduled from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on all three days.

The festival will commence with a soul-stirring performance by Siddhant Kamble, a talented disciple of Pandit Keshav Ginde, showcasing his expertise on the flute. Following his captivating rendition, esteemed vocalists Pandit Sudhakar Chavan and Vidushi Manjusha Patil will take the stage, mesmerizing the audience with their melodic artistry.

The second day of the festival will feature the enchanting vocals of Kishori Janorikar, accompanied by the soulful strains of the santoor played by Shantanu Gokhale. The evening will culminate with a captivating performance by the renowned vocalist Pandit Shaunak Abhisheki, leaving the audience spellbound.

On the final day of the festival, music enthusiasts can look forward to the powerful vocals of Viraj Joshi, accompanied by the melodious notes of Deepak Bhanuse on the flute. The evening will conclude with a captivating performance by Aarti Anklikar Tikekar, known for her soulful renditions.

Throughout the festival, the main artists will be accompanied by a talented lineup of musicians, including Suyog Kundalkar, Prabhakar Pandav, Avinash Dighe, Uday Kulkarni, Gangadhar Shinde, Bharat Kamat, Prashant Pandav, Pandurang Pawar, Avinash Patil, Kishor Korde, Nandkishor Dhore, Nilesh Randive, Kartik Swami, Yash Trishran, and Gambhir Maharaj. Akash Thite will grace the event as the host, ensuring a seamless experience for the attendees.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the world of music, the Pandit Bhimsen Joshi award, presented by Kalashree Sangeet Mandal, will be bestowed upon Prof. Vishwas Jadhav, Registrar of the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharv Mahavidyalay. This prestigious award, comprising a memento and a cash prize of Rs. 11,000, will be presented on the inaugural day of the festival.

The Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival promises to be a celebration of classical music, bringing together acclaimed artists and music enthusiasts for three unforgettable evenings of sublime melodies and captivating performances.
