Five districts in Maharashtra, including Pune, have been placed under red alert as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall this week. Pune district is expected to receive heavy rainfall on July 3 and July 4, said a senior IMD official.
The city had received a heavy downpour on Monday 29th June 2020. It started raining from Monday afternoon and 55 mm rain was recorded till 5.30 pm itself. The city was observed to be the wettest city in the state on the day. The heavy rain and water logging also impacted the traffic in various parts of the city like Camp, Wanowrie and Pune Railway Station.
