The Union government announced on April 19th 2021 that vaccinations will be open for everyone above 18 years of age till 44 years of age. Registration will start from 28th April on www.cowin.gov.in
If you are above 18 years of age, you will be able to get a vaccine at a central government hospital, a state government hospital or a private hospital from 1st May.
So far, seven state governments have declared that they will provide free vaccines. To be sure, the Centre will continue to acquire vaccines, which may be used to vaccinate the 45-plus population or to supply to state governments.
Until April 30, 100% of the vaccines produced will be routed through the Centre to its own vaccination centres, state government hospitals and private hospitals. From May 1, 50% of the vaccines made by a manufacturer will go to the Centre, while the other 50% will be for state governments, private hospitals and the open market.
